Vashon Custom Homes (“we,” “us”) is a design-build contractor on Vashon Island, Washington. This policy explains what personal information we collect on vashoncustomhomes.com and when you contact or hire us, how we use it, and the choices you have.
We do not sell your personal information.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you call, email or request a quote, you may share:
- Your name, email address, phone number and mailing address
- Your project address and details about the work you want done
- Photos, plans or documents you send us
- Billing and payment details, if you hire us
Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, it collects standard technical data. This includes your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, the site that referred you, and when you visited. Some of it is collected through cookies (see Cookies and analytics).
We don’t ask for sensitive information such as health or financial account data through the website. Please don’t send it to us.
How we use information
We use your information to:
- Answer your questions and prepare estimates and quotes
- Plan, permit, build and manage your project, including site visits and inspections
- Send invoices and keep business, tax and warranty records
- See how people use our website so we can improve it
- Keep the website secure and block spam and misuse
- Meet our legal obligations
We only send promotional emails if you agree to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work, though some features may not.
How we share information
We share personal information only as needed to do our work:
- Subcontractors and suppliers on your project, such as electricians or material suppliers, who need your name, project address and contact details
- Permitting offices and inspectors, such as King County, when a permit application requires it
- Service providers that run our business systems, such as website hosting, email, accounting and payment processing
- Legal and safety reasons, when required by law or court order, or to protect our rights, property or safety
- A new owner, if our business is sold or merged; this policy would still apply to your information
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don’t share it with others for their own marketing.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep project records, including contracts, invoices, permits and warranty information, as long as needed to support your project and meet tax, licensing and warranty requirements. Inquiries that don’t become projects are deleted once we no longer need them.
We use reasonable safeguards, including a secure (HTTPS) website and limited access to client files. No way of sending or storing data is completely secure. If a data breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by Washington law.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we have about you
- Correct information that’s wrong
- Delete your information, unless we must keep it for legal, tax or warranty reasons
- Stop sending you promotional emails

We do not collect consumer health data as defined by Washington’s My Health My Data Act.
Children’s privacy
Our website and services are for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Links to other websites
Our website may link to other sites, such as Google or the Better Business Bureau. We aren’t responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the effective date at the top of this page.
