Custom home design & construction
Your home, designed around the way you live
Contemporary or traditional, we design and build custom homes on Vashon Island and across greater Seattle — with permits, materials and construction managed by one team.
Why build with us
Design, permits and construction in one place
Building on an island comes with its own logistics, codes and weather. Our team brings decades of construction, design and engineering experience and established relationships with local permitting offices, so your build stays on track.
- Personalized design for your site, lifestyle and budget
- Materials chosen for looks, durability and sustainability
- Inspections and quality checks at every stage
- A dedicated project manager from day one
Our process
Six steps from idea to keys
A clear path so you always know what’s next.
STEP 01
Personalized consultation
We talk through your vision, needs and budget, and walk the site.
STEP 02
Custom design development
Plans developed around how you live, refined until they’re right.
STEP 03
Material selection
Finishes and materials that balance beauty, durability and sustainability.
STEP 04
Skilled craftsmanship
Master craftsmen and VCH-approved subcontractors build with care.
STEP 05
Quality assurance
Inspections at every stage, so issues are caught early, not at the end.
STEP 06
End-to-end delivery
From permitting through final walkthrough, we handle it all.
Bring your own plans
Already have plans? We can build them.
Not every project needs to start from scratch. We can work from your plans — from a full home to a backyard shed — and handle permitting and construction.
“
Having worked with several contractors over the years, both on and off island, I have never encountered a company that has made me want to write a 5-star review — until now. Vashon Custom Homes built me the most perfect little beach shed, working from plans I downloaded free from the internet (no design fees!), and fit me into their busy schedule so I could have it completed by summer. The quality of construction is amazing, it was fairly priced, and Rich, Holly and all of their crew were a pleasure to work with. This company goes the extra mile — I highly recommend!
